NYT: Forgotten by Time and Termites →
My old apartment in Clinton Hill was in the top floor of an old frame house, not as grand as any of these. Sadly the owners did a poor renovation of it, complete with vinyl siding. Completely gutted the top floor and left none of the details, just cheap carpet and a quick run to Home Depot. :(

Nun Soup!
I got on the subway on the way home from work and I smelled something oddly familiar. It took me a few minutes and then I realized what it was.

I went to a small catholic school from k - 8 and at lunch time our only hot lunch if you didn’t bring your own was soup. You could get this soup from a very small elderly nun that stood in the corner of the cafeteria with her soup cart...

To make a long story short. Brittany contacted me a while ago because she found my blog and was about to start the same textile design program that I did back in 2007. After many emails later, we finally met up when she was in nyc a few weeks ago. She is just as charming irl as she comes across on her blog. We ate massive amounts of frozen yogurt btw.
